went to Silver Lake for Family Night last night and I have to say it has become one of my favorite places to go for the family! You get a nice hike/walk, little legs can handle it, it's easy to get to, and
absolutely beautiful!! The kids had a great time and I always love the Fall in the mountains!
The lake was like glass and there was sky above us and below us it was wonderful!! The only complaint I had was the bugs but as soon as I put my sweatshirt on I was fine. Annie brought rocks from home that they threw in the water.
My favorite part was just being there as a family. For some reason my "good mother" side comes out and shines when we do outings as a family and I love showing my kids all the awesome things there are to see right in our backyard! So if you know of cheap or free places to check out let me know. If you haven't been to Silver Lake go check it out! It's up at Brighton and it's a must see!

thanks for the good idea. i haven't been to silver lake in years. and we could always use a family outing--especially a free one!! evan's favorite places to go (that are free, or almost free) are copperton park and gardner village (we bring bread to feed the ducks, walk around and spend a $1 for a candy at the candy store)

I don't think we have been to Silver Lake, gonna have to put that on our "To Do" list!
So Silver Lake does not have rocks?! You had to bring your own? Annie was so prepared!
