Mortality, ain't it fun?!

Well, it's been an interesting week for ElRey's family. ElRey's mom, Kathy, had a terrible migraine that wouldn't go away. On Tuesday (I think...long week), she was by herself and it got so bad she called 911. They got the migraine under control, which was apparently from a bad sinus infection, but they wanted to keep her there under observation. She then had a stroke sometime in the early morning hours. She is doing ok, she can't move her left arm and she lost some strength in her legs, she also sounds a little tipsy. The doctors then found a hole in her heart that they will be doing surgery on next week then she will be placed in a rehab for therapy for a few weeks or maybe a month. I then found out that ElRey's sister, Ruth, who has had heart surgery which was difficult for her to recover from, has discovered another problem with the lower chamber of her heart, which has never caused her problems before. It apparently has extra beats which looks like a heart about to go into cardiac arrest! She was going to the Dr.'s appointment hoping to get the go-ahead to have more kids and she got this instead. She was given some meds to help control it and she has to take it easy for a while. She is having more tests done next week and we are all hoping she gets good news!! When ElRey called his brother, Jerry, to tell him about their mom, Jerry called back with his own 'great news'! He's been in and out of the hospital all week because he had surgery on his ankle, his wife, Meg, wasn't feeling well so she went to the doctor to find out her blood pressure is through the roof and they can't figure out why she she is having numerous tests done and his daughter, Nikki, was in a motorcycle accident with her boyfriend, he broke his femur and had to get pins in his leg and she broke her shoulder blade! They are all doing ok but Holy Cow!! So much is going on in one family I'm almost afraid to check on anyone else! It makes me so grateful for every moment of health and well being I have and my family has! Just everyone be careful, eat your fruits and veggies and don't get on any motorcycles!!! Our prayers go out to all of you hurting, suffering or worrying about someone else! I hope its only good news next week!
