My lovekins muffincakes and I celebrated 9 years of marriage this weekend! I think I was telling people it was 8 years-what am I a man??? I don't even remember how long I've been married?? That is sad!
Our awesome friends, Adam and Brooke Smith, took ALL 3 kids for 2 nights/3 days while we went to the exotic city of Sandy, UT.! I know, that's hot! Trust me, if we had the money and resources, we would've been hiking in Hawaii or Greece but this year, Sandy will have to do! We both just needed to step out of the stress of our life and have a break and everything we wanted to do was right here in town.
We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn by Southtowne Mall, it's nice and new but thanks to my bff and Kate from Jon and Kate +8, I was freaking out about walking barefoot on the carpet, showering barefoot, sitting on the bedspread, wondering if housekeeping did anything gross with my toothbrush or went through my suitcase. Other than that I was very relaxed!! They advertise that there bed are ergonomically designed for your comfort...it was like a giant brick with sheets on it!! It was comfortable if you ALWAYS laid on your back! Whenever I go to a hotel the first thing I do is jump on the bed-it was like landing flat on the ground. NO give whatsoever!! Needless to say, we didn't get the greatest sleep the first night but the next day we discovered these nobs at the head of the bed that changes the firmness so we put it all the way to soft. It was still pretty solid but much better!!
Overall, it was a great weekend! We had dinner with my parents, hit the temple, went to a party at my brother's, ate delicious food and saw some fun movies! Our perfect date...well almost perfect...it wasn't Hawaii but that's okay, we were together and that's all that matters!! The moment we picked up our kids it wasn't "oh, we missed you so much! Let's snuggle!" NO, it was "I don't want to go!! I'm not done!!" WAH WAH WAH!!!! No 'easing' back into the grind of life! it's BAM WELCOME HOME!!
So thank you, Adam and Brooke! I know my kids had a great time at your house and we had a great time because of you! I am also glad the Tooth Fairy knows where you live! ;)

Hey, that sounds like our vacations. Of course I don't want to scare you that on your 24th anniversary you will still be vacationing in Sandy, Utah and still only dreaming of Hawaii. I am sure that's just us and you will be off jet setting by then. I did finally get a blog and I didn't even need my kids so come visit my site.

Your 9th sounds better than our 10th-- I'll have to fill you in-- NOW I can laugh at it- but it was not the dream 10th anniversary I had thought it would be. I guess being married to my super hero doesn't include air fair.
How did I miss this post?? Sandy rocks! Way to get away for the big 9 years and yes, as a previous "housekeeper" for a motel (don't even ask) it is best if you don't know how well or not well your rooms are cleaned. Strip the bed all the way down to the sheets...that's all I can say! :) Glad you had fun!
