Silver Lake

We went to Silver Lake for Family Night last night and I have to say it has become one of my favorite places to go for the family! You get a nice hike/walk, little legs can handle it, it's easy to get to, and absolutely beautiful!! The kids had a great time and I always love the Fall in the mountains!
The lake was like glass and there was sky above us and below us it was wonderful!! The only complaint I had was the bugs but as soon as I put my sweatshirt on I was fine. Annie brought rocks from home that they threw in the water.
My favorite part was just being there as a family. For some reason my "good mother" side comes out and shines when we do outings as a family and I love showing my kids all the awesome things there are to see right in our backyard! So if you know of cheap or free places to check out let me know. If you haven't been to Silver Lake go check it out! It's up at Brighton and it's a must see!

So, I've been tagged.....

I am: A "Yes-(wo)Man".
I think: I just ate too much.
I know: You should never ever start your day with a glass of metamucil and an orange! Never ever do that-bad things happen!!
I want: Children to have mute buttons, a Diet Coke and the Second Coming to be here-not in that order.
I dislike: Cold sores, politics and Rosie O'Donnell-she's freakin' nuts!!
I miss: Carefree days, Mexico and/or the beach, John Candy and Chris Farley, my Florida brothers and their families, my Grandpa, Ruth and Nathan and family, college friends.
I fear: Democrats(hehe), war, earwigs in peaches, earwigs in general, how many spiders I digest in my sleep in a year, someone hurting my kids, what I would do to that someone, heights, taxes, sometimes I think Samara is going to crawl into my house at night and whisper in my ear "7 days"...that chick freaked me out(see, "The Ring")!! Disappointing people.
I feel: A little wired and bloated(see "I think"), giddy because my house is quiet!
I hear: A football game, Miley Cyrus.
I smell: Popcorn
I crave: Meat, chocolate, Diet Coke
I cry: Rarely anymore, I think I'm dead inside.
I usually: Think about food.
I search: My house for sippy cups and library books.
I wonder: If my kids will want to be my friend when they grow up.
I regret: Yelling at my kids, eating too much, 1 or 2 choices in my past.....my deep dark scary past.....whooooo
I love: ElRey and my girls, my awesome friends and family, backrubs, sleeping in, funny things.
I care: about people, my family, what is happening in our country, when Jesus will come and make it all better then I won't have to worry about any my daughters going out with a guy named C.J. who has a goatee and an earring and nobody really knows where he lives and he looks way to old to be in high school, drives a motorcycle and my daughter thinks he is just so sensative and misunderstood....I can't breathe.....hang on.....
I always: Check my bank account first thing in the morning.
I worry: Non-stop about anything.
I am not: High maintenance.
I remember: Being in love with Michael Jackson.
I believe: God knows me better than I know myself.
I dance: Whenever I feel the urge.
I sing: But my kids ask me not to.
I don't always: Clean my house.
I argue: With myself.
I write: Because I like it.
I win: For having the cutest girls!
I lose: My dignity and self-respect whenever I give birth and I have to have 2 people holding up my legs and so many people involved with my who-hah.
I wish: I lived by the beach.
I listen: To everything around me.
I don't understand: Global warming and politicans.
I can usually be found: On the phone or at Maverick or both.
I am scared: That I'm not doing enough and that I have a tumor somewhere inside me that I don't know about...I watch way too many medical dramas!
I need: Therapy
I forget: To do my "To Do" every day.
I am happy: With my life.
I tag: Whoever wants to do this or is looking for something to post.

Lost: An Inventory

I wrote this for for an assignment in my english class and I thought I'd post it. It was fun to come up with. The assignment was What have you lost? And you were supposed to write things you've lost using detailed imagery. Hopefully its detailed enough for my professor but it seems with an assignment like that it can be so dark and depressing and I tried really hard to make mine light. So at this time I hope you enjoy "Lost: An Inventory" by Me!

As a wife and mother
I have lost many things.
It all started with
An Incredible man!

He was a magician performing
A disappearing act with
My fears and inhibitions.

The desire to do mundane
Daily task bought a one-way
Ticket to Mexico.

The dreams of visiting far off
Places fade like mirages
In the hot desert.

My keys played hide-n-seek
For 3 days, giggling in a
Corner of the couch while
I tore apart my house.

Like the calm before the
Storm, all is quiet but
My temper is brewing.

My money goes from hand
To hand, traveling the
World and never once
Sending me a postcard.

Ideas of the future are
Trapped in a broken
Crystal ball.

Library books sneak away
In the night, scurrying
To hide from my
Ever reaching grasp.

My sanity gets locked away
In a closet in the back
Of my mind. Someone has
Taken the key.

The anxiety falls from
My shoulders like lumps
Of clay as I run down the trail,
Carefree for the moment.

But through it all
Love always shines.
This is why I’ll never
Lose my sense of humor.

Ode to my parents...

Ok, I know 2 posts in one afternoon is a bit much but its my parents 43rd anniversery today and I wanted to give them a "Holla" for being so awesome! They are the epitome of what a married couple should be and they set the perfect example for me and my brothers on how to love and be loved. We all have awesome spouses due to their example! My dad has always loved my mom with his whole heart and has always seen her beauty and he treats her like a queen! My mom supports and loves my dad and respects him as the patriarch of their home (though, she wears the pants..;) ). Through the years they taught each other so many things like all about petting (they were sitting in my dads car hugging and my dad started rubbing her back. She freaked out because she thought they were petting! My dad had to explain that one to her!) Or what happens when you give into the uncontrollable love hungers (3 boys under the age of 3!!!) And what happens to someone's digestive system when you feed them an all wheat dinner when they don't usually eat that way (friends stop accepting invitations to dinner during the "wheat years")! Thanks to mommy and daddy for an awesome life with such awesome parents! I know ElRey and I will be celebrating our 43rd, 53rd and 83rd because of you and your awesome example of love.

That's funny!

Annie and I were watching Scooby-Doo and, shocker, there was a ghost-full on bedsheet looking ghost- and Annie said: "Mommy that looks like the Holy Ghost, huh!"

Last night the girls fell asleep watching a show and when ElRey and I went in our room to move them this is how we found Audrey:

Goo Goo Ga Ga!

I don't know why she likes to drink from bottles but I remember liking it when I was her age, too. I can't wait to show her dates these pics!!

Little Lily found some kitty-cat ears from a previous Halloween and for some reason she loves them! She puts them on and walks around the house giggling! It's so funny!

How did I get such cute kids?!

We have arrived at a time in the week that I need to be reminded that I love my kids. After days of screaming, crying, fighting, pooping (and that's all just me!!) and trying to get someone to do homework, I need a cutsy-poopsy post of my children so I can do one more day without running away with Matthew McConaughey to Fiji (does he own a shirt, I wonder?)!

But seriously, folks, I have very cute girls! We got a new camera this week and it is so fun! We have taken one more babystep into the digital age and it rocks my world!! I bought it on Monday and so for family night we split into teams (Daddy and Annie vs. Mommy and Audrey), took pictures of anything we wanted and had the other team guess what it is. It was so fun and the girls loved it! They had great ideas and we laughed a lot. I wanted to show you some but I think ElRey deleted them after the game but just to show you what we can do with it, here's an eye!!-

WICKED AWESOME!!!
We are watching....WHAHAHA(must be said with sinister voice)

Anyhoo, enough of that creepiness, my kids are cute. The other day Audrey got ready for school and she got some new pants from her friend, Erin, who couldn't wear them anymore, that she wanted to wear. She got dressed and looked at herself and, no joke she said-"Oh my gosh! I didn't know I could be so cute!" I about died! She is too grownup!! I was watching her get ready and marveled at how my baby is growing up and so I had to take a picture to capture the moment-

She then told me I needed to take a picture without the jacket because it was much cuter!

Oh, my sweet little Diva!
Then we have hilarous Annie! She thinks that if she gives us a winning smile or a little giggle it'll make everything okay and wash away any bad choices she just made...I wonder where she gets that.....

There really isn't a sweeter girl in the world! Today ElRey bought her some gum and before she left for a friends house she made a point of telling Daddy to make sure Audrey gets a piece of her gum! How sweet is that!!
Lily is

Sunshine in a Diaper! She walks around the house giggling all day! She loves her sisters and does a perfect 'downward-facing dog' (yoga move for all you non-new agey people).
So, needless to say, I am very proud of my wonderful girls! How could I not be! They are a joy to be around....most of the time....Aahhh...I think I can now do another day. Just rememder that no matter how bad a day may seem, it is always tomorrow's funny story to share!!
