Annie came home from school the other day with this:
Very cute. She came up to dad to show him and said “Dad, look at my pumpkin… wait, where did my triangle nose go? And there was glue all over here and on the eyes…oh well…”
We praised her in her Jack O’ Lantern creation abilities. The perfect Jack. We put it with her school stuff and didn’t think about it again.
A few days later she came home with this….
“Mom, dad! This is my pumpkin! I picked up someone else’s by mistake. See? Here’s my triangle nose!”
Now that’s more like my Annie.
It’s quite artistic, really. She has eyelashes, and rosy cheeks. She may even be the next Picasso!
Now for (drum roll….) Post Its Tuesday!

I swear I knew exactly what happened with the pumpkin before you said it. I love how different they were but yet she picked up the wrong one. C.L.A.S.S.I.C!
I have had 8 pumpkin choc chip cookies since Monday morn.
I don't carve pumpkins...I give the kids sharpies and tell them to go to hell
That is too funny. Did you send the other pumpkin back? And I agree your daughter's is much more creative and cute. A very good girl pumpkin for a girl.

I'm ever impressed that children know each miniscule detail relating to their belongings and will defend them with blood if necessary. Annie knew she had a nose...and the planet continues to spin. So many mysteries at school resolve like this. I'm partial to the Annie II--it's more creative! Never, never never stop the post its. They're on my "reasons to live" list!
So here is what is cool. I have an annie too. She's 5. LOVE the pumpkin story - totally classic.
What else thats not so cool? I'm on weight watchers and I made their lowcal pumpkin chocolate chip cookies a few weeks ago and ate a full meals worth of points of them. Then I felt sick. So yes, I ate myself sick on Pumpkin Chocolate chip cookies.
Some people call that not a proud moment - I call it PROGRESS.
