The blog with dust bunnies and cobwebs

Sooooo It hasn’t been the funnest couple of weeks. My energy level plummeted, threw out my back, failed my glucose test (a test for gestational diabetes), found out while my energy level plummeted-my iron was super duper low even though I take an iron supplement and nausea and/or heartburn that had me waking up choking on bile in the middle of the night. Don’t even get me started on the endless sobbing!

I know I am making you all want to go have unprotected snuggles.

Needless to say, I haven’t felt chatty, entertaining or the slightest bit delightful in any way. When you are a person that feels like all you have to offer those around is entertainment, it’s rough when you don’t want to entertain. Ya know?

Anyway, no need to call FEMA (they probably wouldn’t make it here till next Tuesday anyway) all is well. Just a little rough is all. I did take the 3 hour glucose test and passed just fine so that was a huge weight lifted off my shoulders! I also got some dresses (pseudo muu muus) to hopefully get through these last few (9) weeks in some comfort.

Anyway, I did have a couple things I wanted to talk about and I know you are DYING to read about!

My sweet, super sensitive and funny 6 year old became a 7 year in one of the most understated birthdays ever! I’m sure TLC wouldn’t be doing a show about the birthdays I throw!

She got a new bike from mom and dad and we took her to the super gourmet restaurant of her choice: Winger’s.

She can be as sweet as molasses one minute and the next minute make you want to pull your hair out but she will ever be my baby and has me wrapped around her finger. Her teacher loves her and she’s the best friend a kid can have!

Next on the list~ The man blogger. That sounds like it should smell of Old Spice and have a constant 5 o’clock shadow while wearing a flannel shirt, throwing large logs around in the forest. I enjoy them-when I can find a good one. I only know of a handful but I wanted to tell you about them because they deserve to be read by the masses! I love finding awesome man bloggers so if you know of one I haven’t listed TELL ME!

-Cheeseboy! I’m pretty sure everyone already reads him but I just wanted to remind you of his awesomeness! You will never leave his blog without a laugh or at least a smile!

-Mr Z. at Adventures and Misadventures of Daily Living! My favorite thing he does is Moments with Joey chronicling classic moments with that one kid in class that you go home to tell your spouse about. Yes, he is a teacher. Some of my favorites are here, here and here.

-Matt Logelin! He was on Oprah once because of his blog and he now has a book coming out. When his wife gave birth to their daughter, she died in the process and he rights about surviving that tragedy and raising their daughter alone. His daughter is so cute and he is such a great writer and photographer! One little warning-he’s not afraid to swear.

-Middle-Aged Mormon Man! He is my new favorite! If you couldn’t figure out from his name, he talks about Mormon stuff but that isn’t it. He is a delight which is amazing since he’s middle-aged and all hehehehe! He should be having a mid-life crisis…wait maybe blogging is his mid-life crisis…

You really should check these guys out! They all belong on your b log rolls and in you following list! I would never steer you wrong!

Lastly, I am super excited to see that I have actually reached 100+ followers! I don’t really put myself out there so this is super exciting to me! I took down my followers window for a while cuz my self esteem seems to get attached to it and it would go up and down, as would my self esteem. I put it back up and told myself to get over myself and look what happens! Welcome, my new friends! If you’re new and have a blog you want me to check out, I would love to come see you! I can’t tell who is new anymore so point me your direction!

Okay, that’s all. Goodnight. I am sweating like a whore in a church.

Maybe I’ll go lay on the cold driveway in my underwear.

I’m sure my neighbors would appreciate that.

Thanks for the reminder...it's been three years since I've dealt with those problems...it's always good to remember what that road is like. Chin-up! 9 more weeks and then someone else can have a turn holding the little squirt!

I love that you got a shout out to Teachinforth, he's been a long time friend of mine. And yes, Joey is great!

I've been reading for quite a while, I found your blog through my husband apparently he grew up with your husband! (fb) Anyway he told me your writting reminds him of things I say and do...awesome!

Wow! I'm so flattered that I don't even know how to respond. Oh wait, yes I do:

1) I am honored to be your new favorite.
2) Why the heck am I the 4th one listed?
3) I'll take a mid-life crisis over your pregnancy any day.
4) I dream of one day of being like you and having 100 followers, then I can exert my malevolent influence on the masses. (Like Cheeseboy)

Like you my self esteem seemed to be connected to the 'Followers' number so I took it off when it stayed on '3'. I realized that there are others reading, since they are commenting they just haven't clicked on the follow button. So the counter is off. No need to stress about that too.

I love reading the man-blogs, along with yours.

It's hard to be funny and painfully pregnant at the same time. You're rocking it big time.

So glad you see you back again! When are you due? You just seem so done.

Wow - - THANKS for the blog love! Just discovered the Mormon Man dude and he is pretty cool and funny.

But, I have no idea how to compete with a single dad who's wife died who has been on OPRAH? I'm totally screwed there.

I'd still watch a TLC show about your birthday parties. I bet it'd be quite enchanting. I mean, Wingers after all. Wingers!

Oh, one other thing... Mr. Z's a teacher and so am I. Not that I am bitter that you failed to mention that. I guess his blog is more about his teaching and I just sprinkle teaching moments in there here and there.

Nine weeks seems a minuscule allotment of time remaining to get prepared for the seemingly insurmountable task of being mother to FOUR OH MY HECK FOUR girls! You have my prayers.
